After capturing this photo, a specific quote from the Torah came to mind. The Torah explains how Hashem guided the Jewish people through the desert after their miraculous freedom from Egypt: "Hashem went before [the Jewish nation] in a pillar of cloud by day, to guide them along the way, and in a pillar of fire by night, to give them light..." (Exodus 13:21). Yes, this quote is talking about the Jewish people journeying through the desert thousands of years ago. However, I believe that every word of the Torah is eternal and relevant in our lives today. Perhaps this quote is telling us that when we have moments of clarity, these are our ‘pillars of cloud and fire’ guiding us along our way. Sunset is the time that day meets night, and I tried to capture this meeting point here. With both the clouds of day and the fire of night included within it, this sky inspires me to expand my awareness to experience the guidance I receive every day from the Creator of the world.
